View: Ahead of the Twenty20 International Series, the New Zealand cricket squad travels to Pakistan

On April 18, in Rawalpindi, the five-match T20I series will get underway.
Prior to the five-match series starting in Rawalpindi on April 18, the New Zealand cricket squad arrived in Pakistan on April 14.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the arrival of New Zealand with the following message on their official X, formerly Twitter, handle: “Welcome to Pakistan, @BLACKCAPS!”

The New Zealand team has landed in Islamabad ahead of “Bank Alfalah Presents Jazz Pakistan vs. New Zealand T20I Series 2024.”
The five-game series holds enormous significance for both sides as it offers an excellent opportunity to evaluate their rosters prior to the 2024 T20 World Cup, which kicks off on June 1.

Recall that two of New Zealand’s most important players, Finn Allen and Adam Milne, suffered injuries during their final practice before departing for Pakistan, meaning they would miss the series.

After Allen had a back ailment and Milne experienced ankle pain, it was decided to keep them off the team.

Two players were picked as replacements: all-rounder Zak Foulkes and wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell. While the latter will be making his Black Caps debut, the former has already been to Pakistan.

It’s important to note that the majority of the New Zealand squad’s players do not play for their first team because important players like Daryll Mitchell, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, and others are competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
